 LONG LIVE DON BOSCOThe most complete and absolute man, the world has ever known is Don Bosco says Joergensen.John Bosco who was popularly known as Don Bosco was born in Italy on 16 August 1815 in a poor peasant family and was educated by his mother in the faith. When only nine he learned through a dream that he was called to dedicate his life to the education of the young. While still a boy he began to entertain his companions with games to which he added prayer and religious instructions. He was ordained priest at Turin after years of sacrifice and began his apostolate among poor youth by founding the oratory. Through his style of education and pastoral practice, based on reason, religion and loving kindness which he called his preventive system, he dedicated his life to the betterment and education of street children, juvenile delinquents and other disadvantaged youth.
